Following "Netiquette"

First off, let's be clear:  when anyone engages online, it's essential that everyone behaves appropriately.  It's not just students who have to follow those procedures, the adults do as well. As a quick reminder, when you're online, be sure to:

Before Joining a video conference (Zoom, Google Hangouts, etc.):
  • Students will make sure the family knows that it is starting.
  • When conferencing, students will check their surroundings to make sure nothing personal or inappropriate is on display or visible.
  • Students will dress appropriately for a classroom setting

During the video conference:
  • Students will only post content that is appropriate to the content.
  • When conferencing, students will not share any personal information (phone numbers, passwords, addresses, etc.)
  • Do not falsify information about yourself or impersonate others online.
  • Students will not take pictures or record during the video conference.
  • Students will be respectful and kind to their classmates.  This means:
    • No rude, negative, or offensive comments about teachers, classmates, or any classmates' work
    • No inappropriate gestures or language.
    • Use only the appropriate icon, emoji, and avatar submissions.

Other Responsibilities:
  • Students will not share posted videos with anyone outside of their school community.

When everyone remembers to act kindly, show consideration for others, and treat one another online as you wish to be treated in person, we'll be able to focus on learning.
